LazyboyProactive - 'In Space, In Time And In Life' [SLICE008]

Slice Records is very proud to announce its 8th release with an an epic conceptual album from Lazyboyproactive called 'In Space, In Time And In Life'.

Lazyboyproactive is a live Electronica outlet for Melbourne singer, songwriter, and producer, Ank Juwaheer, AKA "Ankie."

Five years after the release of the Kaos Dream, LazyboyProactive has become a sensational live electronic music act, combining progressive, tech and pop sensibilities with live vocals, guitars, synths and stunning visuals.

This album transports the listener into a sonic journey from start to finish. Composed like a symphony, in a 1-3-5 minor progression, all the tracks are linked through the chord progressions. With complex melodies and time signatures this musical masterpiece will impress the modern listener in this day and age. The album although very contemporary and innovative in its sound production is also kind of an old school seventies concept.

Stepping Inwards - SLICE 004

Stepping Inwards was a collaboration in the summertime of 2014 between James Woodcock (Jimmi-Woods) and Luke Horsfall (Dr Squiggle) that has now ended with the two artists focusing on their solo acts. Even though now defunct , the projects sheer quality demands its release.

Stepping Inwards is a journey into the realm of psychedelic techno. From the humble confines of the bedroom studio Luke and James chanted an incantation of the hypnotic, anodised with a layer of brooding intensity. As your hips begin to shake, the music proceeds to cross the blood brain barrier. Each track becomes a neuro-tropical landscape, comprised of deep tech rhythms accompanied by powerful peaks and enchantingly elongated sounds. As the music progresses from track to track this album is bound to stimulate your cerebellum and make you crave the call of the dancefloor.
Download the album here, it's pay what you want!

Stepping Inward’s sound captures elements of Techno, Psy and Prog, with their musical inspiration being drawn from artists such as Monolake, Son Kite, Kliment, Claude Von Stroke, Tetrameth, and Sensient, just to name a few.

The Tribal Society in conjunction with Offworld Productions and Slice Records presents:

-The official After Party of Chrysalis 2015-

After successfully completing many of the mission objectives at the recent winter gathering, we would like to invite all you highly evolved organisms to celebrate once more together, to rekindle our associations and friendships and to make new and meaningful connections.

The playground this time around will be the infamous 'Rubix' warehouse venue located in the gritty, urban quarters of Brunswick. The musical entertainment promises to be one that shouldn't be missed.

We feel extremely privileged to welcome to the line-up two masterful producers/performers from the global scene who have confirmed to headline the massive local support program.

Matthew Swain aka EVIL OIL MAN (Zenon, U.K.) and Diego Simonetti aka KNOBS (Nachtstrom, ITA) are thrilled to showcase their latest productions and skills in order to take all of us up a notch in our collective journey of heightening awareness and evolving consciousness.

Check out their music here:

(listen to your memory bank for further reference)

Doors will open Saturday evening from 1700 hours onwards and closing of the event will be at 0200 hours Sunday morning.

Until 2100 hours we will treat you to a $10 discounted admission plus special food and beverage deals courtesy of Rubix management which make the prospect of not preparing a meal at home a very affordable and convenient option. From 2100 onwards the admission will be a fair $20.

Our sincere advise would be to get there early, claim the deals and secure yourself entry before the venue reaches capacity.

The support line-up and further info will be released this weekend. Stay tuned... ;-)

We have got the CD's pressed!

With the formation of Slice Records comes the next stage of our adventures- combining local psychedelic audio and visual artists in the form of digital and physical releases. Ever lamenting the death of the album, Slice wishes to bring the listener back to the 'journey' style of listening rather than consuming single songs & or at poor audio quality.

Our 1st release is various compilation of fine local electronic producers entitled "Metaphoenix", showcasing varying styles of quality electronic music. The comp features artists from the label and artists who have played at our events that have helped shape our parties. The comp was mastered by Cydelix (Cosmic Leaf, Greece) Cheers George! Thanks again to all the artists involved and helping make Slice what it is today!

Slice #002 is "The New Mythology by The ScullaMooks recorded over two separate studio sessions and mastered by Simon Polinski. A brain melting psychedelic journey that fuses traditional sequenced style with the natural spontaneity and energy of live improvisation. Copies of the CD will be available at the Launch party - full details here:

Both CD's are professionally pressed and printed. Artwork was skillfully done by Clint Grierson - Point Zero Productions, the magus of Graphics for Slice.

We have done a small limited edition run of CD's before they are released digitally worldwide on Beatport, Itune etc so check out the releases at if you want to get a copy!

Slice Comp # 2

Attention all artists who have played at a Slice Event!
We are releasing our second Slice compilation that will consist of two ‘sides,’ Omni Ear and Nexus. Omni Ear showcases the eclectic, freeform side of Slice’s artist base, covering experimental acts, beats and techno, whilst Nexus delivers progressive trance through to the kind of dark psychedelia that clears all but the hardiest of souls from the dancefloor.
Over the last three years we’ve had an opportunity to hold events of an amazingly diverse nature; we want our second comp to highlight exactly where we’ve come from. As a part of this history, we’d love to have you on board!
There will be physical release - A collector’s edition, including 2xCDs and a booklet containing memories from our events as well as artwork inspired by the music contained within. This album will be presented as a seamless release, with each track merging into the next to provide the listener
with a true journey missing from a lot of today’s albums. A digital download of both sides and a PDF with the booklet art will also be available as a bundle through Bandcamp webstore.
If you would like to submit a track for the compilation use the form here or send us an email!
